WHAT: PINECREST LAKE-BOTTOM CLEAN UP DAY
WHEN: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15
WHEN: 10:00 AM OR WHEN YOU GET THERE
WHAT TO BRING:
1) BOOTS, MUCK OR OTHERWISE, GLOVES, HAT
2) LUNCH, WATER, ETC
USFS WILL SUPPLY TRASH BAGS, BUT YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN IF YOU WANT.
COLLECTION POINT: PINECREST MARINA BOAT LAUNCH RAMP
WHAT TO EXPECT: This will be a volunteer effort open to anyone who wants to help. There will be minimal direction and leadership, we hope people will spread out and canvas the immediate lake bottom out the deep water area, the area between the point and the dam, and along the South Shore as far as anyone wants to walk. The North Shore people may do that end/side of the lake on Sunday as time and weather permit.
GENERAL THOUGHTS: The idea will be to bag as much of the small stuff (cans, bottles, shoes, clothes, fishing gear/line, etc.) and take the bags to either the launching ramp dock at the Marina or above high water line along the lake trail.
Larger items (tires, anchors, broken boats, etc.) should be clustered as well as possible so that the trucks and motorized vehicles can pick them up. We may have yellow safety tape available to mark these items/piles.
The idea is to have fun, relax and be safe while making our favorite place a little cleaner.
CANCELATION: IF SNOW AND OR RAIN ARE HAPPENING OR REASONABLY EXPECTED TO HAPPEN ON SAT, THEN THURSDAY BEFORE WE WILL EMAIL EVERYONE ON OUR LISTS AND SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING SAT AS THE FIRST ALTERNATE. IF THERE IS SIGNICICANT SNOW ACCUMULATION WE MAY HAVE TO POSTPONE TILL NEXT FALL.
